The Hudson River Valley was once a cradle of young America. But even before the Europeans reached its shores, the Native population had traveled up and down the Hudson Valley for thousands of years. At HVR we pull inspiration from the natural beauty of the Hudson Valley while remaining true to the ancient wilderness and people of the upstate.
It was the Dutch who first settled the Hudson Valley, crafting some of the first post and beam found in all of the United States. The English soon followed bringing their own unique style of timber framing that can still be found today. Much of what we salvage are the remnants of these old barns. It is at these historic sites where we find some of the massive old growth oak, chestnut and pine that once covered the Hudson Valley.
